Sustainability in Print - Paper

Reuse - Reduce - Recycle

More than 10% of deforestation is carried out to serve the supply of wood products which includes paper. In 2018, The Guardian reported that every second, a chunk of forest equivalent to the size of a soccer field is lost. We need trees to survive so we need alternatives to the destruction of forests worldwide.

Recycled paper is an obvious solution. Paper and corrugated board can be recycled up to seven times, creating huge savings in resources and reducing emissions and waste.

There are other options to recycled paper. We are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® FSC-C017433.  They are an international non profit organisation who certify the sourcing of paper to be sustainable using 10 principles and 70 criteria. In 25 years FSC® has certified over 200 million hectares of forests, in over 80 countries worldwide.

Another alternative is Carbon Balanced Paper which enables us to measure and offset the carbon impact of our paper through the work of World Land Trust. McGowans employ all three methods in our ongoing effort to improve our sustainability and reduce our environmental impact.
