Previously spot UV and embossed finishes were considered a costly and time consuming luxury. Now with the Scodix 1200 McGowans are in the unbelievable position of being able to offer both finishes in the one pass.
Couple this with the fact that we’ve also removed the cost and time factor and I’m sure you’ll agree it is an option you simply have to try.
You will also be pleased to hear that not only is digital embossing an economic print enhancement solution it is also in line with our policies an environmentally friendly solution. It does not produce any harmful waste products and uses the minimum amount of clear polymer while still producing fantastic effects.
Now that this is available in a digital format there is no lower limit in print quantities. We will do one off unique prints and thanks to the optical print alignment software used to register each and every page personalisation is also possible.
Setting up for a Scodix finish is the same as for a spot colour or any other traditional print finish. A separate plate is required to indicate the areas you would like to be embellished on your print.
Ideally supplied as another PDF, it can also be a spot colour or layer within the same PDF. A full explanation is available in our artwork guidelines section. If you would like us to set up your digital embossing just let us know your requirements and we will take care of it for you.
